Dear Parents\Guardians:

It’s hard to believe that the 8th graders of Aurora Hills Middle School are about to embark on the next leg of their educational journey. To celebrate, we are pleased to announce that 8th-grade students of Aurora Hills Middle School will be ending their middle school experience with a Continuation Ceremony to celebrate our students’ achievements.

Our Continuation Ceremony will be Wednesday, May 23rd from 2:45 until 3:40 in the Aurora Hill’s gymnasium. A reception will follow and last until the end of the school day at 3:57.

Unfortunately, given the size of our facility, each student will only be allowed to have two (2) parents\guardians attend the ceremony. Students will be given a ticket to give to parents which will allow admission. Because of Fire Marshal regulations about building capacity, no exceptions can be made for extra attendees.  Small children who can sit on an adult’s lap do not need a ticket.

As with high school and college graduation ceremonies, there are certain requirements that students must meet in order to participate in the Continuation Ceremony at Aurora Hills. They are as follows:

Academics: Students will need to earn a 2.0 “Grade Point Average (GPA)” for the remainder of the year. The student’s  “GPA” will be an average of his/her grade and work habits score in the time period from Tuesday, April 3rd until Wednesday, May 16th. Standards Based Grades will be converted as follows:
