Why I love to teach
I LOVE teaching because I LOVE kids and want them to know their value and worth! When I was in 5th and 6th grade I had a teacher who had high expectations for all her students, held us accountable for not just academics, but how we treated each other, pushed us to think hard and then, think harder. She believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. She was honest, direct and one of the toughest and most beloved teachers I ever had. Sister Jane Frances took the time to get to know me and made me feel valued, capable, and seen. I am forever grateful to her. I know it was her impact on my life that helped shape me into the person I am and the teacher I have become. Now, it is my passion, privilege and tremendous responsibility to make a positive difference in the lives of other children and young teens each day just as my Mentor did for me.
