Why I love being a counselor

I love being a counselor because I get to know the students on a different and more personal level. I am passionate about helping students navigate through the complexities of middle school, growing up, and life and I aim to help them become the best version of themselves! My overall hope is that I make a positive difference and that they see me as a mentor that gets to know them and accept them for who they are!

Professional Background

For 7 years I worked for the Colorado GEAR UP Program as Pre-Collegiate Advisory assisting students from 8th - 12th grade in planning for after high school, obtaining scholarships, and making their post-secondary dreams a reality. It was in this field that I was inspired to become a school counselor. This is my 5th year as a school counselor and 4th year in APS!

If I wasn't a counselor I would be...

I would either still be a Pre-Collegiate Advisor or a teacher or I would want to work in something sports/athletics related.

Favorite pastimes

I enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as playing and watching different sports. Additionally, I like spending time outside, reading and cooking or baking!
