Trusted Support

We are Stronger Together

Joining the Mustang Family means just that. As a family, we look out for each other and collectively support individuals to be their best. Students engage with their advisory groups every day, and we have a strong student support team. Students who report having a trusted adult in the school typically experience much more success.

  1. Mustang Advisory is an opportunity for students to connect daily in a familiar group. Students engage in community building, social-emotional learning, and career/academic planning during this time. In alignment with APS, every student needs to have a plan to pursue opportunities after Aurora Hills.

  2. Our mental health and counseling team creates a safe place for students to seek support by providing individual, group, and classroom guidance to all students in the academic, career, and personal/social domains to foster independence that will further their achievement in all areas.

  3. Through Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), students are taught and supported to LEAD the Mustang Way.

  4. A Restorative Justice approach teaches students the correct behaviors when conflict or misbehavior occurs.  Students are taught to be accountable for their actions and repair the harm done when they make mistakes and when expectations are unmet. All students are supported to live boldly with integrity and responsibility.

Ms. Richardson has helped me by being an adult I can trust. She has helped by making it not so scary and made my 6th grade year better. Ms. Richardson helps me figure things out with other people.
